The complications of neuromuscular system in CRF are quite common, including uremic encephalopathy, uremic neuropathy, drug-induced nervous damage, neurological diseases caused by dialysis and cerebrovascular accidents in five categories.
Uremic encephalopathy and its clinical manifestations are mainly in the following aspects: encephalasthenia; severe psychotic symptoms include depression, mania, delirium, hallucinations and delusions; disturbance of consciousness; asterixis, hand and tongue intention tremor; myoclonus; epilepsy; ataxia, muscle tremors, tetany etc..
Uremic neuropathy usually occurs only after the glomerular filtration rate is <12ml/min, and the clinical manifestations include peripheral nerve symptoms, beginning with restless leg syndrome, leg discomfort, activity, or walking. It can be expressed as burning feet syndrome, foot swelling or tightness, and tenderness, acroparesthesia and pain, decreased motor conduction velocity; cranial nerve and brainstem symptoms appear, olfactory, parosmia, visual acuity, visual field defect, the last sight may completely lost, mydriasis or narrow, diplopia, nystagmus, vertigo, hearing impairment, facial weakness, swallowing, fatigue, etc.; autonomic symptoms have miosis, saliva is thin, tachycardia or bradycardia, sweating, dry skin, vomiting after eating or eating and not morning vomiting and diarrhea, loss of normal temperature fluctuation; muscle disease manifested as gastrocnemius muscle and thigh muscle cramps and toe flexors, at night attack.
Drug induced nervous damage due to polymyxin E, streptomycin, kanamycin, barbital, penicillin, butyrophenones alcohol and other drug poisoning, manifested as mental disorders, seizures, coma, extrapyramidal syndrome, eighth of cerebral nerve damage.
Dialysis induced neurological diseases include dialysis dementia and wernickle encephalopathy. Dialysis dementia early manifestations of language disorder, inattention, memory loss, personality changes, disease progression may have depression, delusions, hallucinations, bizarre behavior, dementia, myoclonus, ataxia, epilepsy.
